About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Rates Sales specialist at the Vice President level based in Singapore to cover institutional clients across the APAC region. This individual will have responsibility for both voice Rates sales and electronic Rates distribution, partnering closely with clients, Trading, Markets Sales, eDistribution, and global Electronic Trading Services teams to drive growth across the APAC Rates franchise.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing key client relationships, delivering Rates market insights and trade ideas, originating flow across cash and derivatives products, and expanding electronic trading adoption through platform connectivity, algorithmic execution solutions, and strategic e-trading initiatives.
In this role, you will:
Voice Rates Sales
Develop and manage relationships with institutional clients across APAC, including banks, asset managers, hedge funds, insurance companies, and sovereign institutions.
Drive revenue generation across the Rates franchise including government bonds, interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, inflation products, and related derivatives.
Provide clients with market colour, trading ideas, relative value opportunities, and macroeconomic insights.
Work closely with Rates Trading to identify and execute client opportunities while ensuring optimal risk management and pricing outcomes.
Coordinate across sales, trading, research, and structuring teams to deliver holistic client solutions.
Identify new business opportunities and deepen wallet share with existing clients.
Maintain a strong understanding of client investment strategies, portfolio objectives, and evolving market requirements.
Contribute to strategic account planning and franchise growth initiatives across APAC.
Ensure all client interactions and business activities adhere to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and market conduct standards.
Electronic Rates Sales
Increase electronic client engagement through proactive outreach, education, and support of e-trading solutions.
Manage all aspects of external electronic trading interfaces, including client and venue connectivity, platform onboarding, and electronic execution workflows.
Partner with global Electronic Trading Services teams to support and grow the APAC electronic Rates business.
Lead integrations of new electronic trading channels, venues, ECNs, and client connectivity initiatives.
Support client adoption of algorithmic execution strategies and electronic trading tools.
Effectively communicate electronic trading enhancements, platform developments, and execution solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.
Monitor and manage electronic trading performance, client activity, and platform utilization.
Collaborate with Sales and Trading teams on the development and rollout of new algorithmic execution capabilities.
Ensure ongoing support of client platform connectivity throughout the trading day and coordinate resolution of production issues.
Strategic & Technical Responsibilities

Collaborate with third-party vendors, venues, and technology partners to support production environments and platform enhancements.
Drive technological and operational improvements that align with client and business priorities.
Perform validation and testing of new products, trading tools, and electronic workflows prior to production deployment.
Analyze trading and execution data to identify opportunities for improving client outcomes and optimizing algorithmic strategies.
Manage risks associated with electronic execution, benchmark trading, and algorithmic orders.
Ensure business and technology impacts related to market structure or regulatory changes are appropriately coordinated and communicated.
Support strategic initiatives that enhance Wells Fargo's electronic trading infrastructure and distribution capabilities.
Partner with internal stakeholders across Sales, Trading, Technology, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Risk functions.
Work closely with global teams to maintain and improve client experience and trading system performance.

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Securities Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Experience in Fixed Income sales, ideally with a focus on USD Rates
Electronic sales and securities product management experience
Fluency in English due to engagement with global stakeholders
Desired Qualifications:
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong understanding of trade life cycle pertaining price creation and trade execution
Extensive knowledge of automated market making, optimal execution algorithms, and market microstructure
Strong understanding of big data, data analytics, and data science
Strong understanding of the market structure and its evolution for Rates, FX, Algos, and eFX principal market making
Extremely motivated, proactive and solution-oriented individual
Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
