The Project Superintendent will organize and lead construction procedures and ensure they are completed safely, quickly, and efficiently.
Essential Job Functions
• Supervising construction activities to ensure they conform to project plans and specifications.
• Managing subcontractors and coordinating activities between different crafts.
• Scheduling workflow and ensuring that construction milestones are met within the stipulated time.
• Conducting regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and adherence to safety standards.
• Problem-solving on-site issues and implementing solutions in real-time.
• Communicating effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and
stakeholders to keep the project aligned with its goals.
• Maintaining detailed and accurate site reports and documentation.
• Enforcing site safety and addressing any legal, environmental, or health and safety concerns.
• The day-to-day tasks of a Construction Superintendent involve a mix of on-site leadership and administrative duties:
• Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as needed due weather, supply delivery, and personnel.
• Ensuring workers and subcontractors are fully apprised of project goals, expectations, and timelines.
• Managing the use of materials and human resources to ensure that excess is minimized, and project resources are used efficiently.
• Preparing internal and external reports pertaining to job status and presenting the findings to relevant People
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years’ experience as a construction project superintendent, construction superintendent, or similar role
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
• Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Familiarity with construction/project management software
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
• A team player with the ability to lead and inspire
• Degree in engineering, construction management preferred
