The Supply Chain Department is responsible for supporting Food & Beverage, Lodging, and Engineering & Facilities operations through sourcing, purchasing, warehousing, and distribution of goods across Yellowstone National Park. The team ensures timely access to materials while supporting sustainability, cost control, and operational excellence.
Job Summary:
The Purchasing & Inventory Specialist is responsible for the procurement of goods and services and the management of inventory across multiple departments, including Food & Beverage, Lodging, and Engineering & Facilities (R&M). This role ensures timely sourcing, purchasing, and replenishment of materials to support continuous operations. Exercises sound purchasing judgment to obtain best value based on price, quality, service, and delivery while supporting sustainability initiatives and operational goals.

Responsibilities
- Execute purchasing of stock, non-stock, and project materials across F&B, Lodging, Retail, and R&M categories, ensuring best value through pricing, service, and delivery.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels across warehouses and storerooms through replenishment planning, cycle counts, and management of obsolete/slow-moving goods.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand needs, ensure supply continuity, and support operational uptime.
- Develop and manage vendor relationships, including sourcing, negotiations, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Maintain order guides, ensure compliance with contracts and preferred vendors, and support sustainability initiatives.
- Utilize ERP and CMMS systems to manage purchasing, inventory, and reporting while driving process improvements and tracking key metrics.
- Support warehouse and logistics operations, including delivery coordination, seasonal ramp-ups, and material handling standards.
- Train and support staff on purchasing systems and inventory best practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies, including identifying and addressing unsafe practices.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong procurement, inventory management, and vendor negotiation experience.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work flexible schedules.
Preferred:
- Experience in hospitality, resort, or multi-unit operations.
- Familiarity with Food & Beverage and lodging operations.
- Experience with maintenance and R&M sourcing.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Physical Requirements include:
- Ability to lift up to 50–70 pounds.
- Ability to work at elevation and in varying outdoor conditions.
- Ability to assist in warehouse operations as needed.
