As a Software Engineer Principal within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, OH.

• Serve as the primary technical owner of the web platform implementation supporting enterprise digital properties
• Design and develop scalable, performant, and maintainable solutions across CMS, hosting, and delivery layers
• Ensure platform capabilities support high-quality content delivery, personalization, and user experience
• Implement personalization strategies (targeting, segmentation, dynamic content delivery)
• Partner with UX/design teams to translate designs into high-fidelity, performant implementations
• Continuously improve page speed, responsiveness, and engagement outcomes
• Enable efficient content authoring, publishing, and workflow capabilities within the platform
• Ensure content delivery supports multi-channel and multilingual needs
• Integrate and optimize personalization engines, data layers, and targeting logic
• Establish and follow best practices for:
o Component-based architecture
o API integrations
o Performance optimization
• Lead adoption of modern development patterns (e.g., headless, microservices where applicable)
• Optimize how code moves from development, to pipeline, and to production
• Contribute to improvements in build pipelines, deployment automation, and release processes
• Drive front-end and platform-level performance tuning
• Support integration with security controls, to support scanning, monitoring, and access control

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $91,000.00 – $169,000.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
