Position Overview
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is seeking a mid-level litigation associate to join its Consumer Financial Services practice in the Ridgeland, MS office. This role is a great opportunity for attorneys seeking meaningful responsibility in state and federal court matters, representing financial institutions in single-plaintiff litigation and appeals, within a dynamic, growing practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent financial institutions in consumer financial services litigation matters in state and federal courts.
- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediations.
- Develop litigation strategies and provide legal analysis on complex financial services issues.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient case management and client service.
- Maintain strong client relationships and communicate case developments effectively.
Qualifications
- Admission to the Mississippi State Bar and in good standing.
- 5+ years of experience in financial services litigation, mortgage servicing, contested foreclosure, and/or MIssissippi commercial litigation.
- Experience handling depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and client service orientation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
