Our team in Milwaukee currently has an opening for a Sr. Manager of Operations. This position has regional wide responsibility for eight locations and reports to the VP Operations of Brenntag Great Lakes and Brenntag Northeast.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Purpose and Function:

To lead and motivate the Brenntag Great Lakes Operations teams to contribute to the profitable growth of the company by developing and executing, in conjunction with regional businesses, national operations, and logistics strategies and initiatives to improve the organization’s competitive position by improving service, increasing productivity, and lowering costs in a safe, secure, and environmentally responsible manner.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Leads and inspires a high performing Operations team that support Brenntag’s execution for business conduct and compliance.
• Ensures safety is the first priority and that all activities are conducted in accordance with quality, health, safety, and environmental management system as well as corporate and local policies.
• Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
• Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.
• Contributes to the delivery of service excellence to both internal and external customer groups.
• Collaborates with regional QSHE team to ensure continuous improvement of regional health, safety, security, environmental and emergency response programs
• Ensures comprehensive incident investigations are conducted in a timely manner, confirms identification of root causes and implementation of corrective and preventative measures.
• Leads the justification, design, development and tracking of capital projects.
• Identifies, champions, and assists with the implementation of new or improved Operations procedures, processes, technologies, and equipment to enhance service, efficiency, effectiveness, reduce costs and improve return on investment and also establishes improvement targets.
• Develops and monitors Operations programs to comply with regulations and internal programs
• Establish and maintain executive relationships with key Operations service suppliers and assists in resolving issues as required.
• Partners closely with Logistics, QSHE, Sales and Materials Management to ensure customer orders are fulfilled safely and efficiently.
• Liaises with Brenntag North America Operations team.
• Confers with Vice President of Operations and executive team to review achievements and changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
• Prepare and control the budget with aggressive management of operational expenses including, but not limited to, labor hours, equipment, supplies, and facility costs.
• Continued Enhancement of all Operational KPI’s.

IDEAL PROFILE

Education/Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Technical or Business-Related Areas, MBA Preferred
• 10 years of related job experience in operations roles and preferably in the chemical, distribution and logistics industries
• Experience in Union facilities preferred
• A hands-on management approach that encourages change and creative problem-solving
• Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels in support of customer relationships
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment
• Ability to groom and develop teams
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and high integrity
• A commitment to continuous improvement in an ever-changing industry
