The Gathering Spot (TGS) is a private membership club founded in 2016 for professionals, creatives, and entrepreneurs in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., committed to fostering community, culture, and connection through curated experiences, content, and dining. 

Additionally, TGS operates Retreat, an exclusive, private rooftop club designed to facilitate refined social interaction and high-end hospitality for leaders and culture-shapers seeking meaningful relationships and elevated experiences. 

Position Summary

Own an assigned culinary station, delivering precise, timely and consistent food preparation while maintaining mise en place, safety and a collaborative kitchen culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Station Ownership:
  • Prepare and execute assigned dishes to approved recipes, portion specifications and presentation standards.
  • Set up, stock and close the station; maintain accurate prep lists and communicate shortages early.
• Service Coordination:
  • Coordinate ticket timing with the expo and neighboring stations, including banquet and special-event demands.
  • Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergen instructions through established procedures.
• Quality & Controls:
  • Check ingredient freshness, holding temperatures and plate quality; reduce spoilage and waste.
  • Support counts, receiving, labeling, rotation and proper storage.
• Teamwork & Safety:
  • Assist with training junior cooks and maintaining a clean, organized, hazard-free workspace.
  • Report equipment issues and follow sanitation and food safety requirements.

  • Work evenings/weekends/holidays as business needs require
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

•  2+ years of line cooking experience; upscale restaurant or banquet exposure preferred.
• Proficiency in core cooking methods, knife skills, mise en place and safe food handling.
• Ability to remain organized and accurate during peak-volume service.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move for extended periods
• Use standard workplace equipment
• Lift or move supplies and event materials as needed for the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
