Description
Location: Søborg, Denmark. Please note that AGC Biologics does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must already reside in Denmark or the Greater Malmö area in Sweden.
Are you the type of person who enjoys understanding how things work, questioning assumptions, and solving complex technical problems?
We are looking for a Sr Reliability Engineer to help shape the future of our maintenance, calibration and asset management programs. This is not a traditional maintenance role. Instead, you will focus on understanding equipment risks, analysing failure mechanisms, evaluating maintenance effectiveness, and developing data-driven maintenance and calibration strategies.
Some days you will be deep in equipment data, conducting component-level risk assessments and reliability analyses. Other days you will be presenting your recommendations, challenging established practices, and facilitating discussions with stakeholders across Manufacturing, Quality, Compliance, Engineering, and Maintenance.
Whether you are an experienced reliability professional or an exceptional early-career engineer with strong analytical abilities, we are interested in hearing from you.
What You'll Be Doing
Risk Assessment & Reliability Engineering
- Perform detailed equipment, instrument and component-level risk assessments.
- Identify failure modes and evaluate their impact on safety, compliance, reliability, and operational performance.
- Conduct FMECA, criticality assessments, root cause analyses, and other reliability studies.
- Support a risk-based approach to maintenance decision-making.
Maintenance & Calibration Strategy Development
- Evaluate existing maintenance and calibration programs and challenge activities that do not deliver value.
- Redesign and optimize preventive, predictive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance and calibration strategies.
- Build maintenance and calibration programs based on risk, data, and equipment criticality.
- Develop practical recommendations that improve equipment reliability while optimizing resource utilization.
Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Analyse maintenance and calibration history, failure data, asset performance trends, and reliability metrics.
- Identify patterns, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Convert complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Support the development of KPIs and performance monitoring tools.
- Support digitalization initiatives that improve data visibility, decision-making, and maintenance effectiveness across the organization.
- Develop and maintain reporting and analytical tools, including Power BI dashboards and visualizations, to support reliability, risk, and maintenance strategy decisions.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Compliance, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
- Facilitate discussions where priorities may differ and help build alignment around technical decisions.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support internal and external audits by presenting maintenance strategies, risk assessments, and technical rationales, and by clearly communicating decisions to auditors and regulatory stakeholders.
- Act as a subject matter expert during audits and inspections, presenting risk assessments, maintenance strategies, and technical justifications to auditors, Quality, and Compliance stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
We are less interested in the number of years on your CV and more interested in how you think.
You are likely someone who:
- Enjoys analysing complex technical problems.
- Is naturally curious and asks "why" before accepting a conclusion.
- Can work independently and stay focused on difficult problems.
- Is comfortable challenging established ways of working when supported by facts and data.
- Can communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Is persistent, resilient, and comfortable navigating disagreement.
- Can balance technical rigor with practical business realities.
Qualifications
You may be an experienced engineer or a recent graduate.
We'd like to see:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Interest in asset reliability, maintenance optimization, risk management, or data analysis.
- Ability to work with complex datasets and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, User Requirement Specifications, Technical Specifications, and equipment manufacturer manuals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English.
Experience with the following is considered an advantage but is not required:
- FMECA
- FMEA
- RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance)
- Root Cause Analysis
- Asset Criticality Assessments
- Reliability Engineering
- Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotech, food, chemical, or process industries
Who Will Thrive in This Role?
This role is likely a great fit if you:
- Enjoy working independently and becoming an expert in a technical area.
- Like digging into data until you fully understand a problem.
- Are comfortable having difficult conversations when the facts support your position.
- Prefer solving root causes rather than treating symptoms.
- Enjoy building new solutions instead of simply maintaining existing processes.
- Enjoy understanding how equipment works by combining field observations with technical drawings, P&IDs, manuals, performance data, and engineering principles.
- Want to have a genuine impact on how maintenance and reliability decisions are made.
What We Offer
- A unique opportunity to shape and improve maintenance strategy across critical assets.
- Exposure to cross-functional decision-making and collaboration with senior stakeholders.
- Significant autonomy, ownership, and freedom to drive improvements.
- An environment that values analytical thinking, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
- Opportunities for professional growth regardless of your level of experience.
- A highly visible role with the opportunity to influence decisions, drive change, and provide informal leadership across the organization.
