We are representing a private family based in Palo Alto, California in seeking an experienced and exceptionally discreet Estate Driver. The role is part of a three-driver team that provides dependable transportation and vehicle support for the family. This is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt (overtime-eligible) position for a professional service driver who is comfortable supporting children, principals, family members, adult guests, and VIP passengers. The driver reports to the Estate Manager, who assigns daily coverage.
The family requires reliable daytime coverage within a 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM service window. The three drivers rotate coverage. The regular schedule is a 40-hour workweek. With rotation and family needs, total hours typically range from 40 to 60 per week, and all overtime is paid as described under Compensation. Schedules are published [at least one week] in advance, and the team coordinates coverage for same-day changes. There is no overnight work.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary: $135,000 per year for the regular 40-hour workweek, a regular rate of $64.90 per hour.Overtime: This is a non-exempt position. Hours over 8 in a workday or 40 in a workweek are paid at 1.5 times the regular rate, and double time applies wherever California law requires it.
Bonus: Discretionary bonus.
Vehicles: Household vehicles are provided for work duties.
Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, and a 401(k) plan.
Time off: [Two weeks] of paid time off, plus paid holidays. Accrued, unused PTO is paid out at separation. Paid sick leave is at least five days (40 hours) per year.
Experience Requirements
Candidates must have [5+] years of professional driving experience in a private family, family office, executive transportation, luxury hospitality, security, or a comparable high-service setting. Direct experience transporting infants and children, as well as adult principals and VIP guests, is essential.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate is calm, anticipatory, flexible, and professional. They must be comfortable with schedule changes, work well within a coordinated driver team, communicate clearly with household staff and administration, and exercise excellent judgment without close supervision.
Strong Bay Area route knowledge and confidence operating late-model sedans and SUVs are required.
Candidates must hold a valid California driver's license, have a clean driving record that meets the family's insurance requirements, and be eligible to work in the United States. The role requires the ability to lift and carry groceries, packages, and luggage of up to [50] lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
After a conditional offer of employment, the candidate must complete a background check, motor-vehicle-record review, reference verification, and standard household onboarding.
Background checks are conducted in compliance with the California Fair Chance Act, the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the California Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act, including required disclosures, authorizations, and an individualized assessment before any adverse decision.
Responsibilities
The Estate Driver will provide safe, punctual, and comfortable transportation in household-provided sedans and SUVs. Assignments include school, activities, appointments, airport transfers, family errands, adult guest transportation, and VIP transfers. The candidate must have proven experience transporting children from infants through teenagers, including consistent attention to child-safety requirements and correct use of child-restraint equipment.
The position also includes grocery pickup and shopping, mail and package handling, occasional deliveries, and other driving-related errands. The driver will keep household vehicles at a high standard of readiness through light-to-moderate cleaning, fuel management, routine condition checks, and taking vehicles to scheduled maintenance and service appointments. Administrative staff handle the remaining vehicle-service coordination and household support functions.
Time spent waiting at schools, appointments, airports, and other stops is paid working time. The rotation is structured so drivers receive meal and rest breaks in accordance with California law. The household reimburses work-related expenses, including errand purchases and business use of a personal phone, or provides [a household card / work phone] .
The driver must protect the family's privacy and handle all schedules, destinations, errands, and interactions with complete discretion. Professional attire is required while on duty.
