Description
RDA is looking for a Senior Traffic Manager to join our growing team in Glen Allen, VA. This is an opportunity to lead meaningful traffic projects across Virginia, work alongside a talented and collaborative team, mentor the next generation of engineers, and have a real voice in the growth of our Traffic practice. What You'll Do:
- Lead Technical Excellence: Direct and oversee the technical development of traffic designs and operational analyses for diverse and innovative roadway and multimodal projects. Ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety in the design and analysis of traffic operations, signal systems, and complete streets for all modes of transportation—vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian.
- Drive Project Success: Lead project meetings, present traffic design aspects, and provide technical expertise to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with clients, agency representatives, contractors, and internal teams to deliver innovative traffic solutions.
- Ensure Quality and Standards: Maintain high standards for deliverables and perform quality control for team members' work.
- Support Project Management: Assist project managers in meeting schedule and budget goals while driving technical progress.
- Foster Innovation: Develop intelligent transportation systems, signal designs, interchange access reports, and signing and pavement marking plans.
What You'll Need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in traffic engineering, including both traffic operations and design.
- Licensure: Registration as a P.E. in Virginia, or the ability to obtain through reciprocity, preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of traffic engineering standards and practices, including AASHTO, FHWA, MUTCD, HCM, PROWAG, and HSM.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency with Synchro and MicroStation required. Experience with OpenRoads, HCS, and SIDRA preferred.
- Communication & Leadership: Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team, provide leadership, and communicate clearly through strong written and verbal communication skills.
