As a Training Specialist I, you will:
- Regularly perform job shadowing in Branch Services to provide staffing assistance when needed and maintain critical job skills and perspective.
- Coordinate new employee Training Schedules and Welcome Letters and distribute accordingly. Escalate any scheduling exception requests, as appropriate.
- Review and prepare classroom materials prior to scheduled training.
- Facilitate classroom and virtual training with a primary focus on New Employee Onboarding, including but not limited to New Employee Orientation, Teller Training and Sales & Service.
- Actively work towards building proficiency with classroom management skills, including but not limited to effective time management, consistent delivery, addressing performance issues, following established escalation processes, and treating all participants respectfully and fairly.
- Maintain accurate training records. Track attendance for each class and provide timely feedback to managers regarding their employees. Seek guidance from the Organizational Development Manager or VP on a plan to address deficiencies.
- Review post-training evaluations for assigned classes, ensure training objectives are met, follow up when needed. Collaborate on appropriate adjustments and implement approved changes.
- Provide onsite observations and shoulder-to-shoulder training as assigned.
- Provide observation feedback to the appropriate individuals and assist with creation and implementation of continued training plans.
- Continue to follow up to identify additional training opportunities and assist with the creation and implementation of continued development training plans.

Requirements
- Strong oral and written presentation and communication skills required.
- Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills are essential for projecting a positive image as representative for the credit union.
- Requires education equivalent to a four-year high school education or general education degree (GED).
- 1 year of experience in a financial institution preferred. Additional preference given to Credit Union experience.
- Formal or informal training experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the Credit Union movement and philosophy preferred.
- Must react well under pressure, approach others in a tactful way, accept responsibility for own actions, and follow through on commitments.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
- Requires a high level of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
- Must be highly organized, versatile, flexible and sensitive to the needs of trainees.
- Requires sound judgment and critical-thinking skills. Displays a willingness to learn to make decisions in a timely manner and demonstrates an understanding of established guidelines. Obtains approval for decisions outside their authority, makes appropriate recommendations, can support and explain reasoning.
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills, ability to listen to employee needs, and the ability to convey a message to a classroom in such a way that everyone understands the material.
- Strong computer knowledge, especially with the use of applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience with Canva is a plus.
- Prior presentation skills experience is a plus.
