Job Title: Health & Safety Compliance Manager – EU&UKI
Location : Solihull, UK
Hours: Full-time
Why join us?
· Lead the development and oversight of a consistent Health & Safety compliance framework across a diverse EU, UK&I veterinary healthcare network.
· Provide clear interpretation of Health & Safety regulatory requirements and translate them into practical requirements for different types of veterinary establishments across EU, UK&I.
· Partner with country Health & Safety Managers and relevant specialist functions to support local compliance while maintaining a common European baseline.
· Build and maintain visibility of regulatory change, compliance obligations and emerging requirements, helping countries understand what needs to change, where and when.
· Join a collaborative, purpose-driven organization committed to creating A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS while strengthening safe and compliant workplaces for our people.
The team
You'll join the Mars Veterinary Health Europe (MVHE) Global Real Estate & Facilities Management (REFM) team, reporting to the Director of Site Health & Safety, Risk & Security. The role will work closely with country Health & Safety Managers and other relevant functions across our European veterinary network. Its focus is to provide a clear view of Health & Safety compliance requirements across countries, recognizing that legal obligations and practical controls may differ depending on the type of veterinary establishment, activities performed and local regulatory framework. The role will help connect EU, UK&I oversight with country-level implementation, supporting a consistent, risk-based and proportionate approach.
What you'll do
· Monitor and maintain an overview of applicable and emerging Health & Safety legislation, regulations and relevant regulatory guidance across European countries in which MVH operates, working with local experts where country-specific legal interpretation is required.
· Develop and maintain a EU, UK&I Health & Safety legal and compliance requirements framework, mapping requirements by country and, where relevant, by veterinary establishment type, activities and risk profile.
· Advise and support country Health & Safety Managers in understanding what requirements apply locally and how EU, UK&I minimum expectations should be implemented alongside country-specific obligations.
· Coordinate regulatory horizon scanning and change management, assessing the potential impact of new or amended requirements and helping countries translate changes into proportionate actions, policies, guidance, training or controls.
· Support compliance assurance through structured reviews, evidence requirements, gap analysis and action tracking; identify common themes and opportunities for shared solutions and provide clear compliance updates and escalation of material gaps to HSRS leadership.
What we're looking for
· Proven experience in Health & Safety compliance, regulatory affairs, legal compliance, or a related field within a multi-site, multi-country, or similarly complex organization.
· Essential: Experience in regulatory compliance or EHS assurance, including interpreting legal and regulatory requirements and translating them into practical operational controls.
· Desirable: Recognized Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent) and experience in H&S legal compliance across EU and UK&I regulatory environments.
· Strong ability to research, interpret and translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical and proportionate operational expectations; veterinary, healthcare or other regulated-sector experience is an advantage.
· Excellent analytical, organizational and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with country Health & Safety Managers, operational leaders, legal teams and external specialists across different jurisdictions.
· A collaborative and pragmatic approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to distinguish between common EU, UK&I expectations, country-specific legal requirements and controls that depend on the activities and risk profile of an individual establishment.
