G78 - Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance web applications and AI-enabled products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end application development, integrating frontend and backend technologies, cloud infrastructure, and AI services. The role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience with modern development frameworks, and the ability to deliver production-ready solutions in an Agile and DevOps-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing full stack applications.
• Take ownership of end-to-end application development, including frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and AI service integration.
• Develop responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web interfaces using modern frontend frameworks.
• Design and implement secure, reliable, and scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and system integrations.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain AI-enabled applications and products in production environments.
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, and automation capabilities into applications.
• Implement automated unit and integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, application monitoring, and deployment processes.
• Implement application security best practices, including authentication, authorisation, API security, and secure coding.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement continuous improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital and AI solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and engineering practices to improve application performance, scalability, and developer productivity.

Requirements

Education & General Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience in full stack software development.
• Experience delivering production-ready web applications across the software development lifecycle.
• Proficiency with Git, version control, and modern branching workflows.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.

Frontend Development

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with React.js and/or Next.js.
• Experience developing responsive, accessible, and user-centric web applications.
• Familiarity with UI frameworks and component libraries such as Material-UI or Tailwind CSS.

Backend Development

• Strong experience with Node.js (Express.js, NestJS) and/or Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets, and third-party API integrations.
• Knowledge of caching technologies such as Redis, API rate limiting, load balancing, and horizontal scaling.
• Experience integrating applications with enterprise systems and external platforms.

AI Application Development

• Hands-on experience developing and deploying LLM-powered applications in production.
• Experience implementing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), function/tool calling, and AI agent workflows.
• Understanding of LLM guardrails, response evaluation, and AI application reliability.
• Proficiency in using AI-assisted coding tools while maintaining software engineering best practices.

Cloud, DevOps & Infrastructure

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience implementing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker and containerised application deployment.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation, application monitoring, logging, and observability tools.

Application Security

• Experience implementing authentication and authorisation mechanisms, including OAuth and JWT.
• Knowledge of API security, secure coding practices, and OWASP Top 10.
• Understanding of cloud security principles and application vulnerability management.
• Awareness of LLM-specific security risks, including prompt injection and sensitive data leakage.

Software Quality & Testing

• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing frameworks.
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and production issues.
• Strong understanding of software maintainability, performance optimisation, and engineering best practices.

• Experience delivering projects within the Singapore Government or Public Service sector.
• Familiarity with government security, governance, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, or other enterprise AI platforms.
• Experience developing AI agents, copilots, chatbots, or workflow automation solutions.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
