SMI SECURITY IS HIRING – OVERNIGHT ROVER/GATEHOUSE SECURITY OFFICER
SMI Security is seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-service-oriented Security Officer to join our team at one of our prestigious accounts in the heart of Miami.
This position is ideal for an experienced security professional who has HOA, condominium, residential, or property security experience and is comfortable using computers and security-related technology.
Position: Overnight Rover / Gatehouse Security Officer
Schedule: Wednesday – Sunday
Hours: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Pay: $18.81 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control access through the property gatehouse.
- Conduct routine security patrols throughout the property.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems.
- Verify residents, guests, vendors, and authorized visitors.
- Maintain accurate visitor and security logs.
- Prepare detailed daily activity and incident reports.
- Respond professionally to resident and guest concerns.
- Enforce property rules, regulations, and post orders.
- Maintain a professional appearance and excellent customer-service standards.
- Communicate effectively with property management and SMI leadership.
- Remain alert and attentive throughout the overnight shift.
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Class D Security License.
- Previous security experience required; HOA, condominium, residential, or gatehouse experience strongly preferred.
- Computer proficient and comfortable using email, digital reporting systems, and basic security technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
- Strong customer-service skills.
- Must be able to follow written post orders and company procedures.
