Description
Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Toronto GTA (hybrid) ·
Type: Full-time ·
Openings: 2
Salary: CA$165K – $200K + equity
The role
Every video frame our client captures, labels and delivers moves through the AWS infrastructure this team builds and runs. As a senior individual contributor on the platform and infrastructure team, you'll design, scale and harden the AWS environment, with a focus on the networking and storage behind global data ingestion and customer delivery. You'll lead key projects and work closely with ML, computer vision and data teams.
What you'll do
- Design, build and operate core AWS networking, storage and IAM
- Run the network: VPCs, subnets, routing, Transit Gateway, VPN/Direct Connect, DNS and load balancing for capture sites, internal teams and customers
- Tune petabyte-scale S3 storage for video and sensor data: bucket design, lifecycle and tiering, replication and access patterns
- Make data transfer faster and more predictable, from site ingestion to large customer deliveries
- Manage infrastructure as code (Terraform) through CI/CD
- Own reliability through monitoring, alerting, on-call, incident response and postmortems
- Find storage and transfer cost savings, contribute to design reviews and mentor engineers
What you bring
- 6+ years in infrastructure, platform or cloud engineering, operating production AWS environments at meaningful scale
- Deep AWS networking: VPC design, routing, Transit Gateway or peering, VPN/Direct Connect, Route 53, load balancing and cross-environment troubleshooting
- Large-scale AWS storage: S3 at scale, lifecycle policies, storage classes, replication, performance tuning
- Strong infrastructure-as-code practice (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD ownership
- Solid IAM and security: least privilege, encryption, network segmentation, audit readiness
- Automation proficiency in Python, Go or similar
Nice to have
- High-throughput data movement: multi-region replication, DataSync, Snowball, S3 Transfer Acceleration
- Hybrid or edge networking connecting physical sites to the cloud
- Kubernetes/EKS; GPU compute or data processing on AWS
- Customer-data compliance: data residency, PII handling, SOC 2
- AWS Advanced Networking or Solutions Architect Professional certification
