What success looks like in this role:
We are seeking an experienced Windows Server & VMware Engineer to join a project-focused infrastructure team supporting large enterprise Cloud and Hybrid Cloud initiatives. This role will play a key part in infrastructure modernization, migration, virtualization, and transformation projects across complex enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will possess senior-level expertise in Windows Server administration, VMware virtualization technologies, automation, and enterprise infrastructure operations, while collaborating closely with architects, engineers, project teams, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Build, migrate, and perform in-place upgrades of Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2022, and 2025).
- Design, implement, and support enterprise Windows Server and VMware-based infrastructure solutions.
- Participate in Cloud and Hybrid Cloud transformation, migration, consolidation, and modernization initiatives.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain server hardware, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and associated software.
- Administer and maintain VMware ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, and related VMware technologies.
- Coordinate system backup, storage, networking, and recovery operations to ensure high availability and business continuity.
- Develop and implement automation solutions using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, or similar technologies to streamline administration and operational processes.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and third-level support for complex infrastructure issues affecting servers, virtualization, operating systems, storage, and networking components.
- Execute complex infrastructure changes and develop detailed implementation and back-out plans.
- Monitor enterprise systems, antivirus solutions, patch compliance, performance metrics, and user administration activities.
- Conduct health checks, capacity analysis, log reviews, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Utilize AI-assisted tools such as Anthropic Claude to improve documentation quality, technical analysis, automation development, and operational efficiency.
- Communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and management.
- Support disaster recovery, resiliency, and business continuity initiatives within enterprise and cloud environments.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of Windows Server administration experience in enterprise environments.
- 7+ years of hands-on VMware virtualization experience (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter).
- Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2022, 2025) — build, upgrade, migration, and administration.
- VMware ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, and related virtualization technologies.
- PowerShell, PowerCLI, and/or Python scripting for automation.
- Server hardware, storage, and networking fundamentals supporting virtualized environments.
- Backup, recovery, and high-availability/business continuity solutions.
- Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows infrastructure services.
- Patch management, antivirus/endpoint compliance, and performance monitoring tools.
- Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, and change management processes.
- Strong technical documentation skills (architecture diagrams, runbooks, knowledge articles).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AI-powered productivity and technical analysis tools, including Anthropic Claude, is highly desirable.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS) is preferred but not required.
