What you’ll be doing...
As a Network Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for an expert level knowledge in addressing outage incidents, outage communications, change management, and process issues for a dedicated Public Sector customer.
As a part of a highly visible team, you are accountable for ensuring high network availability and attainment of service levels. The team operates in a round the clock environment to provide continuous management and support of the Verizon network.
In this role you will...
- Apply a broad awareness of surveillance techniques to monitor a variety of data types across global networks and report out on customer impact.
- Manage and communicating network outages in a timely and effective manner to external teams by communicating technical details and status to customer service centers, technical support organizations, vendors, and executive management teams during network events and major outages.
- Apply in-depth technical knowledge to help resolve complex issues.
- Actively build relationships with the customer and support teams.
- Partner with automation teams to analyze current processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Identify system constraints and limitations, recommend solutions to enhance overall performance for engineers via automation.

In his hybrid role, you must live within a reasonable commuting distance to one of the locations listed on this posting. Your work will consist of some days working from home and some days in the office as assigned by your manager.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have...
- Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
- Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
- Three or more years of experience as a network assurance engineer
- Advanced IP and Routing experience.
- Must have, or qualify for, and maintain a U.S. government clearance at the Public Trust level.
- Must be able to participate in the on-call rotation which requires work on evenings and weekends during your week of rotation.
Even better if you also have...
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working in telecommunications, network operations, and/or network maintenance.
- Knowledge of LTE networks and 1X to 5G technologies.
- Knowledge of Cloud and Virtualized solutions.
- Experience scripting with Python or equivalent languages.
- Knowledge of all major cellular switching, sub-systems, data networks, and power systems.
- Working knowledge of basic telephony and network architecture.
- Working knowledge of switching fundamentals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjust to priority changes.
