Description
🌍 Who are we?
Operating across Europe and Asia, WeMaintain specialises in the maintenance and modernisation of lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining hands-on technical expertise with technology and data.
Our approach is built on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and effective when teams have the right tools, the autonomy to make decisions and a clear understanding of what's happening across the equipment they look after.
Since 2026, Otis has been our majority shareholder. WeMaintain continues to operate independently, retaining its own organisation and culture while benefiting from additional resources to support our growth.
Three core values guide the way we work every day:
Care (looking after others): treating colleagues and customers with respect, consideration and a genuine sense of responsibility.
Grit (determination): seeing things through with high standards, commitment and perseverance.
Uniqueness (being different): embracing different perspectives, fresh ideas and new ways of doing things.
Our ambition is to raise the standards of maintenance, alongside the people who make it happen every day.
👀 Why are we building this Talent Pool?
This is not an advertisement for a currently open vacancy.
At WeMaintain Singapore, our field technicians play an essential role in keeping lifts and escalators safe, reliable and running smoothly for the people who use them every day.
We'd like to connect with technicians at different stages of their careers, from those developing their skills and gaining hands-on experience to seasoned specialists with strong maintenance and troubleshooting expertise.
Rather than waiting until a specific vacancy becomes available, we want to build relationships with people who share our commitment to technical quality, safety and customer service.
By joining our Talent Pool, you'll give us the opportunity to consider your profile when relevant positions become available.
If a future opportunity matches your experience and interests, we may reach out with more details about the responsibilities, working conditions and compensation, so you can decide whether you'd like to explore it further.
The idea? Let's get to know each other today, so we can explore working together when the right opportunity comes along.
🔎 The Field Technician role at WeMaintain
Our Field Technicians are the people who understand the equipment, identify problems and help keep lifts and escalators operating safely and reliably.
Whether you're still developing your expertise or already confident handling complex technical situations, your contribution matters. The level of independence and technical responsibility will depend on your experience, qualifications and the position available.
Depending on the opportunity and its scope, your responsibilities could include:
Preventive maintenance: Carrying out scheduled maintenance on lifts and/or escalators, inspecting components and identifying early signs of wear or potential failure.
Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting: Investigating technical issues, identifying root causes and helping restore equipment to safe working condition.
Repairs and component replacement: Performing minor repairs, adjustments and parts replacement in line with your technical competencies and authorised responsibilities.
Breakdown and emergency response: Attending equipment faults and call-backs, where required by the position, to support service restoration and customer safety.
Inspections and technical checks: Supporting routine inspections, statutory checks and equipment testing where relevant and within your qualifications.
Customer communication and reporting: Keeping customers and internal teams informed about equipment conditions, maintenance activities and any issues requiring further attention.
You'll also work closely with colleagues in Operations and technical support, sharing observations from the field and helping identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
For developing technicians, future opportunities may offer the chance to strengthen practical skills through appropriate guidance and experience.
For more experienced professionals, positions may involve greater ownership of maintenance activities, independent troubleshooting and supporting colleagues with technical challenges.
The exact responsibilities, equipment and level of autonomy will depend on the opportunity available when we get back in touch.
🔧 What makes this role different at WeMaintain?
At WeMaintain, we believe that good maintenance starts with the people who know the equipment best.
Technology and data help us understand equipment performance, but they don't replace the judgement, experience and practical knowledge of the technicians working in the field.
In practice, this means:
Technical expertise matters. Your observations, diagnostic skills and understanding of equipment are important in identifying problems and making informed maintenance decisions.
Responsibility grows with experience. We recognise that a developing technician and an experienced specialist bring different strengths. The level of autonomy and technical complexity will reflect the position and your competencies.
Communication is part of good maintenance. Technicians play a valuable role in explaining equipment issues, sharing technical findings and keeping customers informed.
Collaboration goes beyond the field. Working with Operations and technical colleagues helps connect what happens on customer sites with maintenance planning, service quality and technical support.
Depending on the position, the working environment may also involve travelling between customer sites, managing unexpected equipment failures and participating in rotating call-back arrangements, including outside normal working hours.
We'll always explain the specific working conditions and responsibilities when discussing an opportunity with you.
👑 Who are we looking for?
We'd love to connect with people who enjoy hands-on technical work, take safety seriously and are curious about how equipment works.
We're open to different levels of seniority. You don't necessarily need to have spent years in the lift industry to be relevant to every future opportunity.
The essentials
A relevant technical background, vocational training or practical experience in mechanical, electrical or lift and escalator systems, appropriate to your level.
An interest in equipment maintenance, fault diagnosis and practical technical problem-solving.
A strong commitment to workplace safety, following procedures and delivering reliable work.
A responsible and methodical approach, including knowing when to seek technical guidance or escalate a problem.
The ability to work effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly about technical issues.
Willingness to work in a customer-facing, field-based environment.
Any technical qualifications or certifications required for the specific position and its authorised responsibilities.
Nice to have
Previous hands-on experience in lift and/or escalator maintenance, servicing or troubleshooting.
Experience working with equipment from different manufacturers.
Familiarity with Singapore's lift and escalator maintenance requirements and working practices.
Experience using digital maintenance systems or technical reporting tools.
For experienced technicians, confidence diagnosing complex faults, managing assigned maintenance activities or sharing technical knowledge with colleagues.
These would certainly be advantages, but they're not all essential. If you know your field well but don't tick every box, we'd still encourage you to apply.
🎁 What do we offer?
The exact package will depend on the opportunity available, but here's what you can generally expect from technical field roles at WeMaintain Singapore:
An indicative monthly salary of up to SGD 4,000, depending on the role, experience and applicable local wage requirements.
A field-based position working directly with lifts and/or escalators in Singapore.
Practical tools and equipment needed to carry out your responsibilities safely and effectively.
Support and collaboration from Operations and technical colleagues.
Opportunities to develop your technical knowledge and take on responsibilities appropriate to your experience.
Overtime compensation and shift or call-back allowances where applicable to the position.
Private healthcare and other applicable local employee benefits, subject to the package offered for the position.
Annual leave and statutory employment entitlements in accordance with applicable Singapore requirements.
The full package, including location, working hours, salary and any additional benefits, will be clearly communicated when a relevant opportunity becomes available.
🎯 What happens after you apply?
As this is a Talent Pool rather than an active recruitment process, things work a little differently.
1. We get to know your profile
We'll review your application, taking into account your technical background, practical experience, skills and career expectations.
We're interested in understanding both what you can already do and the kind of responsibilities you'd like to take on next.
2. We may arrange an introductory chat
If your background aligns with the technical profiles we're interested in, we may invite you to a brief conversation with our recruitment team.
This would be an opportunity to understand your experience, the equipment you've worked with and what you're looking for in your next position.
3. We get back in touch when a relevant opportunity arises
If a suitable vacancy becomes available, we may contact you with the details, including its technical scope, responsibilities, working arrangements and compensation.
You'll then be able to decide whether you'd like to explore it further.
If there's mutual interest, we'll explain the recruitment process and next steps for that specific position.
Please note: Joining our Talent Pool does not guarantee an interview or a job offer. It simply gives us the opportunity to consider your profile for future vacancies.
