Job Summary

This ten-week paid internship is in Richardson, TX 

What Are Your Responsibilities? 

The Audit Specialist Intern responsibilities may include assisting with claim accuracy audits and performance tracking of Administrative Services Only (ASO) Clients.  This role will also require accurate reporting of monthly potential error findings for analysis and rebuttal with internal business partners that support claims and customer service to contribute to ensuring department, divisional and corporate objectives are met. The Audit Specialist Intern will need to maintain knowledge of contracts, coding schemes, system applications, COB procedures, pricing and provider files, and managed care principles and develop and maintain rapport with internal business partners that support Claims and Customer Service. 

 

This role will also need to:  

• Own components of project work and deliverables with guidance from an assigned mentor and manager.  

• Conduct research, analyze data and information, and develop recommendations that inform real business decisions.  

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.  

• Support departmental initiatives that improve business outcomes and the member and client experience.  

• Develop and deliver a final internship presentation to department leadership covering the project, results, and recommendations.  

• Maintain complete confidentiality of company business and comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, and applicable compliance policies.  

  

What Do You Need to Be Successful?  

• Knowledge of medical claims auditing experience is a strong plus. 

• Knowledge of, or experience with BlueChip claims processing is a strong plus.  

• Knowledge of quality review processes is a strong plus.  

• Ability to analyze problem claims is a strong plus.  

• Demonstrated interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication. 

• Experience working in a team environment  

• Ability to independently plan, design and execute on assigned projects. 

• Practical, developed PC skills, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and virtual team collaboration tools. 

  

What Are the Requirements You Must Meet? 

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, audit or a related field 

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree; rising senior with a major in finance, accounting, or audit. Other majors may be considered. 

• Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028  

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.  

• Available for the full duration of the 10-week program.  

• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this role.

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

Flex employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days a week. Management will have discretion to modify an employee's weekly schedule for exigent circumstances.

Base Pay Range

$19.13 - $34.17
