First (Days)Overview:
Sentara Obici Hospital, in Suffolk, VA, is currently hiring a Patient Advocate for Guest Services. This will be a full time, day shift position.
Overview
The Patient Advocate serves as a Sentara direct representative to patients/families that have concerns or questions regarding services. Facilitates and promotes continuous quality improvements in the delivery of patient care by maintaining active interfaces between internal and external customers (patients, family, visitors, medical staff, risk management, etc.), maintaining data system of customer issues for use in identifying areas for improvement. Protects the patient's rights; speaking out on the patient's family's behalf when necessary.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Bachelor's degree (Strongly Preferred)
Experience
- Two years of customer service experience (Required)
- Prior experience in mediation and patient advocacy (Preferred)
- Two years experience in an environment where conflict resolution skills were utilized to manage complex communications, difficult persons and situations; and facilitating the conversion of diverse opinions/thoughts (Preferred)
