JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Bridgeport Machinist in Davisburg. Our client is a Automation Equipment Manufacturer and integrator. The Bridgeport Machinist is responsible for full machine setup, program editing, and precision machining of components used in custom automation and conveyor systems.

Responsibilities of a Bridgeport Machinist includes:

• Operate manual Bridgeport milling machines to machine parts to specification
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Set up fixtures, tooling, and workpieces for machining operations
• Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments
• Perform drilling, tapping, boring, facing, slotting, and other manual machining operations
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards
• Deburr and finish machined components as needed
• Work closely with engineering, fabrication, and assembly teams to support production
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Job Requirements of a Bridgeport Machinist:

• 2+ years of manual Bridgeport machining experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings* Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools
• Experience machining aluminum, steel, and stainless steel
• Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and shop mathematics
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• High school diploma or GED required
