JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Bridgeport Machinist in Davisburg. Our client is a Automation Equipment Manufacturer and integrator. The Bridgeport Machinist is responsible for full machine setup, program editing, and precision machining of components used in custom automation and conveyor systems.
Responsibilities of a Bridgeport Machinist includes:
- Operate manual Bridgeport milling machines to machine parts to specification
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
- Set up fixtures, tooling, and workpieces for machining operations
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments
- Perform drilling, tapping, boring, facing, slotting, and other manual machining operations
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards
- Deburr and finish machined components as needed
- Work closely with engineering, fabrication, and assembly teams to support production
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Job Requirements of a Bridgeport Machinist:
- 2+ years of manual Bridgeport machining experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings* Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools
- Experience machining aluminum, steel, and stainless steel
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and shop mathematics
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- High school diploma or GED required
