As the HSE Site Leader, you will own safety strategy and performance, guide teams through compliance and awareness activities, and lead risk reduction initiatives as part of the overarching HSE program at our Valves Technology Center (VTC) in Pasadena, TX – part of our Flow Control & Safety Solutions (FC&SS) product line. You will be responsible for the execution and continual improvement of HSE programs, conformance to the Baker Hughes HSE Management System, as well as partnering with the leaders and frontline teams in strengthening our HSE culture.
As the VTC HSE Site Leader, you will be responsible for:
Providing onsite day-to-day HSE support for local site personnel, regional initiatives and serving as the people leader for the local HSE
Serving as the primary subject-matter expert for HSE topics, including emergency preparedness, environmental compliance, industrial safety, and regulatory requirements – with support from the Global FC&SS and Enterprise Operational Excellence teams
Partnering with local operational leaders, project managers, and field teams to develop, implement, and monitor HSE programs, risk assessments, and improvement initiatives
Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations as well as conformance to internal HSE policies and standards
Leading incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes to prevent recurrence
Owning site HSE strategy in alignment with global FC&SS goals and objectives, managing performance across relevant business KPIs, and owning dashboard – aligning to Lean / Kaizen operational principles
Supporting audits, inspections, and performance reviews across multiple sites and operational teams
Communicating with leadership and key stakeholders on:
HSE metrics, performance insights, and strategic recommendations
Completion of global business initiatives and learning events to bring best practices to site and region – within required timelines and deliverables
Coaching opportunities to strengthen safety culture
Fuel your passion - to be successful in this role, you will:
Hold a bachelor’s degree in a Health, Safety and/or Environmental-related field, Engineering, or Sciences
Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct HSE roles, with preferred experience in supporting manufacturing operations and field-based teams
Have demonstrated experience managing large HSE programs with environmental regulatory requirements, supporting commercial requests, leading major incident investigations and other risk management activities
Technical knowledge of relevant HSE regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA), and industry standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide operational leaders
Be able to travel (<25%) as required to support other Houston-area sites and global team initiatives, audits, etc.

Proven organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with coordination of simultaneous continuous improvement projects
Effective problem identification and solution skills with preferred experience conducting HAZID/HAZOP studies, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and developing Risk Management Plans
Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives across varied operational environments
