Job Title: Tax Manager – Global Tax Operations Center of Excellence (COE)

Your Job
- Lead and manage the in-house Tax Operations Center of Excellence (COE) to standardize and scale global tax operations
- Drive transformation into a technology-enabled tax function through automation, digitization, and process optimization
- Lead large and complex tax projects, ensuring timely execution and operational excellence
- Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders across geographies to achieve business objectives
- Oversee operations across multiple tax domains including International Tax, U.S. Tax, Local Tax, Compliance & Reporting, Special Projects, and M&A
- Navigate and lead through ambiguity and complexity, maintaining composure and strategic direction
- Identify operational challenges and opportunities; develop and implement actionable solutions to improve team effectiveness
- Validate outcomes with stakeholders, communicate alternative viewpoints, and incorporate feedback
- Mentor and coach junior professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and maintaining professional standards
- Promote transparent communication and build trust across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all GlobalFoundries environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and procedures
- Support company initiatives related to ethics, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aligned with enterprise-wide operational excellence goals
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline (MBA preferred)
- Enrolled Agent (EA) certification
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in tax compliance and reporting
- Strong project management experience with proven ability to manage large-scale initiatives
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing tax teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complexity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Proven experience working in cross-functional and geographically diverse teams
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to work in shifts supporting U.S. time zones (approximately 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM IST)
Preferred Qualifications
- Big Four accounting firm experience
- Experience in tax technology transformation and implementation initiatives
- Exposure to global tax operations and multi-jurisdictional compliance
- Demonstrated track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Strong interest in working on challenging and high-impact assignments
