We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused individual to join our team as a Fitness Attendant. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in providing exceptional service, be open to learning, and respond to guests and team members in a professional and courteous manner. This role is responsible for engaging with guests, providing an exemplary service experience, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized fitness environment. Essential Functions:
- Enhance the member and guest experience while they are in the fitness center.
- Ensure all fitness equipment is in safe, operational condition.
- Greet and engage with members and guests, setting the example for excellent customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness of the fitness center, locker rooms, and lobby areas.
- Stay knowledgeable about the fitness areas, Event Center, and resort amenities.
- Ensure policies are adhered to, particularly in point-of-sale operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, building relationships by showing sincere interest in members and guests.
- Resolve any issues or concerns quickly, striving to exceed guest expectations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the retail area is clean and organized.
- Assist hotel and resort staff professionally, sharing necessary information.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare for shifts by ensuring the music is at an appropriate level, uniform is clean and wrinkle-free, nametag is visible, and a welcoming smile is in place.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper stocking of the fitness area.
- Address members by name to create a personal experience.
- Anticipate members' needs and assist with special requests.
- Perform all opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks as outlined in the fitness attendant checklists; submit completed checklists at the end of each shift.
- Keep fitness areas, locker rooms, and lobby spaces clean and tidy.
- Practice safe work habits, following safety procedures, including evacuation protocol when necessary.
- Be knowledgeable about fitness equipment and assist guests with questions.
- Attend departmental meetings and training sessions when scheduled.
- Conduct facility tours for prospective members.
- Provide information on membership pricing, tiers, and assist guests with the sign-up process.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Fitness.
