Description
Position Summary:
The Senior Manager – Japan Commercial FP&A is responsible for leading finance reporting, financial forecasts and all other planning activities for one or multiple Franchise Business Units. This individual will need to possess outstanding project management skills, attention to detail and an ability to adhere to deadlines. This role will be an individual contributor; however, it requires the collaboration with peers and senior leaders. This individual will need to be self-motivated, analytical and able to make well-reasoned presentations. Great communication skills to interact with various key stakeholders are also required.
Principal Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Partnering with the Franchise Business Unit Leaders (BULs) and other franchise leadership team members on all key business and financial planning activities, which may include strategic direction, business development, resource optimization/management, and investments planning.
- Ensuring sales and expense forecasts and phasing are achievable and supported by valid assumptions and sensitivities required to communicate potential variability to business unit leadership.
- Establishing, monitoring, and providing course adjustments for business units’ financial goals and objectives.
- Managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes and associated analysis and reporting.
- Working proactively with the business to understand future financial information needs and produce efficient solutions to meet these needs.
- Participating in and managing ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of FP&A experience and dealing with senior management
- Excellent financial modeling skills and PC skills (Excel, SAP, Qlik, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including oral and written
- Fluent in Japanese and business level English
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- A high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
- Knowledge of the Japan pharmaceutical operating model
- Experience in foreign affiliated pharmaceutical company is a plus
- MBA in Finance
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree, CPA is a plus.
