This role is based in the Detroit, MI area, supporting General Motors operations within a high-volume warehouse focused on pick and pack, sequencing, and inventory management. We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to own all maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting uninterrupted GM production.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Own all maintenance operations across the facility, including equipment uptime and reliability
- Lead and manage maintenance staff and coordinate third-party vendors
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs for forklifts, conveyors, and warehouse systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and facility-related issues quickly to avoid production impact
- Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and meets company and regulatory standards
- Manage parts inventory, vendor relationships, and maintenance-related expenses
- Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and compliance documentation
- Work closely with operations leadership to support workflow, production demands, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and increase overall efficiency
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment
- Previous leadership experience managing maintenance teams
- Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with material handling equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, and related systems
- Background in high-volume or automotive operations (GM or similar environment preferred)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
- Familiarity with safety standards and compliance requirements (OSHA, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license required
