We are inviting applications from current SJGHC employees for fixed-term Emergency Medicine Consultant opportunities totalling up to 2.0 FTE to provide leave cover within the Emergency Department. These temporary opportunities be filled by one or more employees, with the FTE able to be divided across successful applicants to provide flexibility for both the department and applicants, while supporting workforce development and internal career progression. The duration and FTE allocation of appointments will be determined based on service requirements and leave coverage needs

Your Role

As an Emergency Medicine Consultant, you will provide specialist emergency care to adult and paediatric patients while contributing to a culture of clinical excellence, patient safety, education and continuous improvement. You will also provide leadership, supervision, mentoring and teaching to junior medical staff, Health Service Medical Practitioners and multidisciplinary team members.

Our Emergency Department offers a supportive and engaging environment where consultants are empowered to develop their clinical and professional interests.

You will hold Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) and bring extensive experience managing high-acuity patients within a complex healthcare environment.

You will demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, supporting medical education, and providing clinical leadership. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build collaborative working relationships across multidisciplinary teams while contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement and service development initiative
