The Shift Leader at BD Puerto Rico LLC is responsible for overseeing daily operations during their assigned shift, ensuring production targets are met efficiently and safely, and providing direct supervision to a team of associates.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and/or operational personnel during the assigned shift.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Monitor production processes, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain quality and efficiency.
Train, coach, and mentor team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Allocate tasks and resources effectively to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Troubleshoot operational issues and collaborate with other departments to resolve problems promptly.
Maintain accurate shift records, including production reports, incident reports, and attendance logs.
Communicate shift performance, challenges, and recommendations to management.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
Proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is highly desirable.
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
