Chief Surveyor

Job Description

Overview

The Chief Surveyor will lead all surveying activities for road and infrastructure, ensuring accurate measurements, mapping, and data collection to support design, construction, and quality control. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and coordination with engineering and construction teams.

Your role

• Oversee and manage all surveying operations.
• Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction site surveys.
• Ensure accuracy in measurements, levels, and alignments for roadworks and structures.
• Supervise survey teams and allocate tasks effectively.
• Prepare and review survey reports, maps, and drawings.
• Integrate survey data into design and construction plans.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to support project execution.
• Monitor compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments and equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve survey-related issues on-site.
• Ensure timely delivery of survey data to meet project schedules.

About you

• Bachelor’s/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related field.
• Extensive experience in surveying for road and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in surveying instruments (Total Station, GPS, Theodolite, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other mapping software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and integrate survey data.
• Leadership skills to manage and train survey teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective time management to meet project deadlines.
