- Perform MRI scans according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Screen patients for MRI safety risks, including implants, devices, and contraindications.
- Explain procedures and provide patient education to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Position patients appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Administer contrast media as prescribed and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Monitor patient condition during MRI procedures and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in the RIS/PACS system.
- Ensure MRI equipment is functioning properly and report maintenance needs.
- Follow infection control and MRI safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuing education programs.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be ARRT registered in good standing
- Experience with GE and Siemens magnets preferred
- One or more years of MRI experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
