Your mission

Overview of the position:
Hours: 100% (39 hours per week)
Starting date: October 2026
Salary: According to TVöD Bund, pay grade E13
Location: Berlin, Germany
Department & reporting line: Conflict Transformation Research, Transitional Justice and Reconstruction (TJ4Rec)

Your main tasks:

• You design and implement peer-learning and peer-advice activities in collaboration with international partner organisations
• You design and implement policy dialogues with German and international decision makers in collaboration with partner organisations
• You provide advice on interlinkages between transitional justice and other aid sectors in early recovery contexts to different actors
• You support the strategic development of the project as well as network management and ensure close communication with partner organisations
• You are responsible for the timely implementation of work plans, you support planning processes and project management, and you keep the overview of budgetary/procedural requirements and status quo.

Your responsibilities

Your knowledge, experience & skills

• You hold an MA in political sciences or international relations, preferably with a focus on peace and conflict studies
• You have very good knowledge of transitional justice, development cooperation, early recovery and peacebuilding
• You have several years of experience in the field of transitional justice, peacebuilding and development, preferably in early recovery contexts in African countries; experiences in collaborating with multilateral organisations (UN, AU) or TJ institutions is an asset
• You are familiar with project design and implementation, workshop facilitation as well as managing and facilitating participatory processes with a variety of stakeholders; experiences in network management are an asset
• You have excellent communication skills, political sensitivity and a problem-solving attitude
• Fluent German and excellent verbal and written language skills in English; French is an asset.
