The Consumer Loan Consultant will maximize lending and sales opportunities with Credit Union Members who apply for credit over the phone by demonstrating a highly motivated, positive, outgoing, and influential personality. Demonstrates an unsurpassed commitment to exceptional Member service and teamwork that ensures a Raving Fans experience with each encounter.


Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00AM - 6:00PM & Saturdays, 9:00AM – 1:00PM*

*This position will require working flexible hours, including rotating Saturdays, during regular business hours.


This position is based in Anaheim Hills CA with the opportunity to work on a hybrid-remote schedule which consists of 2 days in-office and 3 days working remote from home.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in lending sales.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates' degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in lending sales; preferably consumer.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in applicable MS Office programs (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships with staff in other departments.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of policies, procedures and related loan laws and regulations necessary to effectively perform job duties.
  • Ability to effectively build relationships, establish rapport, and diplomatically communicate information.
  • Effective active listening skills.
  • Advanced working knowledge of consumer lending and processing, consumer loan laws and regulations, DMV procedures, tax return analysis, and Visa.
  • Advanced oral and written communications skills.
  • Keep all credit union and Member information confidential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates an unsurpassed commitment to exceptional Member service. Views situations from the Member’s perspective to effectively respond to their needs and concerns. Follows up to make sure the Member’s expectations have been met or exceeded.
  • Communicates information and decisions to internal and external Members.
  • Explains recommendations, products and services in ways Members can easily understand. Strong understanding of all credit union products and services and is able to confidently offer appropriate solutions to fit Members’ need.
  • Uses strong interpersonal skills and influence to consistently achieve sales goals. Overcomes objections with persuasion and persistence. Displays confidence in presenting appropriate solutions to fit Members’ needs. Maximizes opportunities to sell products and services to benefit Members and enhance quality and depth of Member relationship and profitability.
  • Using credit reports, Member data, and other information, actively seeks opportunities to increase loan volume. This includes contacting Members with pending loan applications and referring Members for non-consumer loan products when appropriate.
  • Actively participates in and completes all ongoing required loan and sales training. Willingly adapts to changes in work environment.
  • Proactively makes calls to Members to follow up on pending loan applications and applications that have been approved but have not yet funded.
  • Works with other consumer lending staff to effectively get loans approved and processed.
  • Complete understanding and active application the Exceptional Experience Guide expectations.
  • Must be able and available to work a “hybrid” schedule, per business operations requirement, as needed.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Compensation

$21.50 per hour base pay + commission through a performance-driven plan. Most earnings in this role are commission-based. Full plan details will be shared during the interview process.
