Audit, Risk & Compliance

If you are a quantitative finance professional looking to accelerate your career, the Audit Manager, Quantitative opportunity at BMO offers a uniquely powerful platform for growth. Unlike many quant roles that focus on a single business line or model type, this position provides rare exposure to virtually every class of quantitative model across the bank, giving you a comprehensive view of how risk, analytics, and decision-making connect across the enterprise. Working at the intersection of quantitative finance, model risk, and internal audit, you'll assess complex models, challenge assumptions, and deliver insights that help strengthen BMO's risk framework while building expertise that few professionals in banking have the opportunity to develop.

What makes this role especially attractive is the breadth of visibility and connection it offers. You will partner with stakeholders across the 1st and 2nd Lines of Defence, engage with senior leaders, and gain a unique perspective on how information, risk, and strategy flow throughout the organization. The team intentionally promotes exposure to different model areas, helping you expand your technical knowledge, build a broad network, and position yourself for future career opportunities across BMO. Whether your passion lies in credit risk or you want to explore a variety of quantitative disciplines, the team's size and flexibility allow high performers to influence their development path and the work they take on.

Beyond the technical challenge, Audit is widely viewed as a career accelerator because it provides unmatched leadership connectivity and enterprise-wide exposure. Combined with a highly collaborative culture, strong relationship-building opportunities, and some of the highest engagement scores across the bank, this role offers the chance to learn continuously, make a meaningful impact, and build a foundation for long-term success. For curious, analytical professionals with a Master's or PhD in a quantitative field and a passion for solving complex problems, this is an opportunity to gain a panoramic view of banking while helping shape the future of risk management at BMO.

BMO’s Corporate Audit Department helps protect against the risk of loss and reputational damage, and provides vital assurance to the Board of Directors and senior management as to the quality and effectiveness of the internal control system. The Quantitative Audit Manager will work with a Director or Senior Audit Manager on executing elements of audits across different teams, with a focus on modelling, quantitative analysis, and audit execution activities.

  • Every day will be different!An ideal role for someone who loves quantitative modelling, you will be asked to take on a number of activities that will include supporting team members through:

  • Ensuring all model documentation is compliant with Corporate policies, standards and guidelines;
  • Working with the team to evaluate the strength of the business risk framework.

Our expectation is that you’ll come to the job every day with a can-do attitude and a commitment to:

  • Demonstrating your ability to investigate and solve problems creatively and innovatively;
  • Collaborating effectively with fellow team members and project stakeholders;
  • Proactively managing individual tasks and work assignments.
