General Manager- Retail Sales

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our client retail sales operations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our Client is a leading diversified conglomerate in Malaysia with a strong presence across building materials, construction, property development, home and living products, and renewable energy. The organization has established an integrated business ecosystem supported by strategic acquisitions, innovation, and sustainable growth initiatives, making it one of the key players in the nation's construction and infrastructure landscape.

Work Mode: Work from Office
Remuneration: RM 15,000 - RM20,000

Key Responsibilities

1. Retail Sales Strategy & Business Growth

• Develop and execute retail sales strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Drive revenue growth across dealer sales, direct retail sales, and kitchen & electrical appliances.
• Identify new business opportunities, market gaps, and growth potential.
• Set sales targets, action plans, and performance tracking for each sales channel.
• Strengthen cross-selling across built-in cabinets, wardrobes, kitchen systems, kitchen appliances, electrical appliances, and related products.
• Support long-term retail business growth initiatives with management.

2. Dealer Sales & Network Management

• Lead dealer recruitment, development, and performance improvement locally and internationally.
• Establish dealer qualification, onboarding, and performance standards.
• Improve dealer productivity, sales conversion, and product mix.
• Identify underperforming dealers and implement recovery, restructuring, or exit plans.

3. Retail Direct Sales Management

• Lead the Retail Internal Sales team to achieve sales targets.
• Improve lead management, customer follow-up, sales conversion, and closing effectiveness.
• Strengthen direct sales as a sustainable retail growth channel.

4. Kitchen & Electrical Appliances Sales

• Grow sales and revenue contribution for kitchen and electrical appliances.
• Increase appliance attachment rates to kitchen and wardrobe sales.
• Develop sales packages, promotions, dealer incentive programs, and product bundles.
• Monitor category performance, margins, inventory movement, and sales effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Product, Procurement, Marketing, and Operations to ensure product competitiveness and effective sales support.
• Ensure sales activities align with commercial and margin objectives.

5. Sales Leadership & Team Management

• Lead sales managers and channel heads to achieve business goals.
• Set KPIs, review performance, and provide strategic direction.
• Build a high-performance, accountable sales culture.
• Identify capability gaps and support hiring, training, coaching, and development.
• Ensure consistent execution and follow-up across sales teams.

6. Commercial Performance Management

• Monitor sales performance, pipeline, conversion, margins, product mix, and profitability.
• Analyze sales trends, dealer and direct sales performance, category performance, and customer behavior.
• Recommend improvements to enhance profitability and sales results.
• Review pricing, promotions, commissions, and incentives to support sustainable growth.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and business objectives.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, business development, channel management, or commercial leadership.
• At least 5 years in a management role leading sales managers or channel teams.
• Experience in dealer/distributor management, retail, B2B, or multi-channel sales.
• Strong commercial acumen in revenue growth, margin management, sales planning, and performance management.
• Proven ability to build high-performing teams, establish KPIs, and drive accountability.
• Experience in home living, furniture, building materials, renovation, interior fit-out, property, or related industries is an advantage.
• Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and travel when required.

Requirements

• Good understanding of retail, home living, furniture, building materials, renovation, interior fit-out, property, or related industries will be an added advantage.
• Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple business priorities.
• Willing to travel when required.
