Role Overview
The Senior Technical Solution Architect will lead the design and architecture of next-generation Industrial AI solutions that connect frontline workers, frontline processes, and enterprise systems through voice, AI, and digital twin technologies.
This role bridges frontline workers, factory-floor operations, enterprise applications, Industrial AI platforms, and operational technology (OT) environments to deliver next-generation voice-enabled, digital twin, and connected worker solutions for manufacturing environments.
Your Impact
- Defining end-to-end Industry 4.0 and Industrial AI solution architectures.
- Shape smart manufacturing platform roadmaps.
- Connect frontline workers, industrial assets, enterprise systems, and AI platforms through intelligent workflows.
- Work with System provider companies and their end-to-end applications to integrate the Cerence solution.
- Drive deployment of Voice AI, Edge AI, and embedded Small Language Models (SLMs) across manufacturing environments.
- Influence product direction through customer engagements, pilots, and production deployments.
- Lead technical discussions with customers, partners, product teams, and engineering organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Industrial AI Architecture: Design scalable end-to-end architectures integrating Voice AI, SLMs into enterprise manufacturing systems.
- Enterprise & Factory Integration: Architect integrations with MES, ERP, PLM, WMS, CMMS, SCADA, and PLC environments.
- Connected Worker Solutions: Create architectures spanning mobile devices, rugged tablets, wearables, HMIs, industrial control panels, and factory-floor workflows.
- Edge AI & SLM Strategy: Define approaches for deploying SLMs and AI workloads across cloud, edge gateways, industrial PCs, and embedded environments.
- Technical Leadership: Provide architecture governance, technical guidance, and solution leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure solutions meet industrial safety, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements.
What You Bring
Mandatory (Must Have)
- 5+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Industrial AI, IIoT, Digital Twins, or Smart Manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of Industry 4.0 architectures, connected factories, Industrial IoT (IIoT), OT/IT convergence, digital threads, predictive maintenance, industrial analytics, and factory automation ecosystems.
- Experience designing solutions connecting frontline workers, frontline processes, industrial assets, and enterprise systems.
- Proven experience with Digital Twin platforms such as NVIDIA Omniverse, NVIDIA Industrial Digital Twins, Azure Digital Twins, Siemens Digital Twin ecosystems, or similar solutions.
- Experience deploying and integrating Small Language Models (SLMs) in edge and industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of OPC UA, MQTT, PLC, SCADA, industrial telemetry, and operational technology integration.
- Experience integrating MES, ERP, PLM, WMS, CMMS, and enterprise manufacturing systems.
- Customer-facing technical leadership experience and ability to engage senior stakeholders.
Good to Have (Highly Valued Plus)
- Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, Agentic AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Knowledge Graphs, and Multimodal AI systems.
- Experience with Connected Worker platforms and Digital Manufacturing initiatives.
- Industrial Cybersecurity standards including IEC 62443 and related OT security frameworks.
- Experience with Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, ABB, Honeywell, or PTC ecosystems.
- Predictive Maintenance, Condition Monitoring, Factory Optimization, and Manufacturing Analytics solutions.

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical discipline.
What we offer
We offer a generous compensation and benefits package (in addition to the base salary), including:
Salary range $132,200.00 USD - $211,400.00 USD It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. The actual salary will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors.
