Refuse Driver

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newport to assist with the appointment of a Refuse Driver, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.26 - £17.10 per Hour

Summary:

The Refuse Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of waste while maintaining high standards of health and safety and customer service. This role requires flexibility to work Monday to Sunday, with overtime paid for any hours worked over 37 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate an HGV Class 2 hook-lift vehicle.
• Collect, transport, and dispose of waste and recycling materials in accordance with operational schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects promptly.
• Ensure compliance with road traffic legislation and Health & Safety procedures.
• Complete all required vehicle and operational documentation accurately.
• Deliver a reliable and efficient refuse collection service.

Essentials:

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
• Previous experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles.
  
• Experience operating hook-lift vehicles is preferred.
  
• Good knowledge of road transport and Health & Safety regulations.
  
• Ability to work Monday to Sunday on a rota basis.
