Overview
Knowledge Services is currently seeking an Office Assistant for a contract through the end of 2026 (potential for extension) with the City of Indianapolis working downtown in Indianapolis.
Work Location: Fully on-site in the City-County Building
Parking: Complimentary parking will be available in a designated City-approved garage located about two blocks from the City-County Building.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm with a 30min lunch.
Pay Rate: $14.96/hour
Responsibilities
Office Assistant Responsibilities include:
• The City of Indianapolis is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Office Assistant to support the Department of Business and Neighborhood Services.
• In this fully onsite role, the selected candidate will provide a wide range of administrative services while serving as a professional point of contact for customers, staff, and clients.
• Success in this position requires exceptional organizational abilities, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service in a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications
Office Assistant Skills Required:• High School Diploma or GED • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar), Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail• Experience managing incoming phone calls and drafting professional correspondence via email.• Excellent oral and written communication skillsPreferred Skills:• Minimum of 1 year experience in a general office environment• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a professional office environment• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills• Experience with data entry, database searches, and basic coordination or administrative support activities• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and manage priorities effectively.• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to track tasks, maintain accurate records, and follow up on outstanding items in a timely manner.
