In this role, you will manage and coach a hybrid finance team of 7 direct reports (some of these have direct reports too) across our EMEA region ( the U.K. the Netherlands and Italy). You will provide hands-on support, handle escalations and queries coming into the team and act as a calm and authoritative point of contact for the team and internal stakeholders. You will ensure accountability, and consistent performance in your team, addressing any issues constructively and fairly, with the confidence to challenge where needed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ownership of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close across all EMEA entities – focusing on improving the quality of the accounts.
  • Deliver statutory, management, and ad-hoc financial reports on time and accurately.
  • Support finance process improvements and standardisation – spotting opportunities to make things leaner, smarter, and more effective.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the EMEA accounting team

About you:

You are an experienced accountant, and you hold an international accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, such as ODCEC). You are experienced in statutory reporting and are make sure you have clean books.

You are an experienced manager who has operated in leadership roles and has managed teams remotely. You coach, develop and empower your teams - you allow them a voice to be heard, and an environment to grow professionally. You are not afraid to roll your sleeves up and get involved with your team’s work when it’s needed.

You have strong exposure to ERP systems (we use JD Edwards, however we plan to transition to Microsoft D365 in the future) and have statutory GAAP experience, including overseeing the audit processes.

Due to the nature of this role, you’ll need to be able to speak English.

Location/Benefits:

This is a full-time, hybrid role, working from our office in either Desio, or Udine.

As part of this role, you’ll need to travel across our EMEA sites (a maximum of once a month).

  • CCNL: Contratto Chimico-Farmaceutico
  • Classification Level: A1
  • Salary: €80.155 per annum (or more with experience).
