PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Senior Associate Regional Director for Outreach and Partnerships oversees ADL Midwest’s engagement with Jewish communities, Jewish communal institutions, and strategic non-Jewish communities and partners throughout the Midwest region, aligned to ADL’s strategic direction. The position also designs and implements regional and national ADL programs to combat antisemitism.

A central component of the role is to develop and strengthen ADL’s relationships with diverse ethnic, racial, religious, interfaith, and civic communities across the region, building trusted partnerships, expanding allyship, identifying areas of shared concern, and creating opportunities for collaborative action against antisemitism, hate, and discrimination.

The role also provides strategic guidance, coordination, and support to colleagues in ADL Midwest’s Spoke Markets to help ensure a consistent and effective regional approach to Jewish and non-Jewish community engagement, outreach, and partnership development. The position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that strengthen ADL’s relationships and expertise, expand our reach, build community partnerships, promote allyship, and support ADL’s broader mission and strategic direction.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY:

Jewish Community Engagement

  • Leverage a deep understanding of Midwest Jewish communal structures, leadership, and emerging needs to drive regional engagement strategies and resource allocation.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with regional Jewish institutions and leaders to position ADL as a community leader and drive collaborative action, resource sharing, and cohesion.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen ADL’s relationships with constituencies within the Jewish community.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the reach and impact of ADL programs and resources, and other regional engagement opportunities.
  • Facilitate Words to Action presentations throughout the Region, working with Community Engagement Managers to reach regional presentation goals.
  • Promote ADL’s mission and deepen engagement with the broader Jewish community through strategic outreach, education, programming, and advocacy initiatives.

Outreach and Partnerships with Non-Jewish Communities

  • Develop and implement a regional outreach strategy to build and maintain relationships with diverse ethnic, racial, religious, interfaith, and cross-cultural communities and organizations on behalf of the Midwest region to advance ADL’s mission and strategic direction. Identify additional communities with which ADL should strategically develop or expand relationships based on demographic trends, community influence, shared priorities, and opportunities for partnership.
  • Engage community leaders, religious institutions, scholars, civic organizations, and other influential stakeholders to promote dialogue, mutual understanding, and opportunities for collaborative action.
  • Educate non-Jewish communities, community organizations, and the broader public about ADL’s mission, antisemitism, hate crimes, and the importance of reporting antisemitic and bias-related incidents.

Regional and Organizational Support

  • Support ADL Midwest’s advocacy initiatives by providing expertise, relationships, and community connections that can strengthen engagement with elected officials, civic leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Support incident-response and reporting efforts by leveraging relationships with Jewish and non-Jewish communities and helping connect affected individuals and institutions with appropriate ADL resources.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to staff in Spoke Markets in developing and expanding relationships with Jewish and non-Jewish communities.

SECONDARY:

  • Represent ADL at community events, conferences, meetings, interfaith gatherings, and other public forums to strengthen relationships and increase awareness of ADL’s mission and resources.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program objectives are met, including program expansion, participant engagement, partnership development, and tracking of program outcomes.
  • Support ADL’s campus work by bringing relevant community relationships, expertise, and partnerships to initiatives addressing antisemitism and hate on college and university campuses.
  • Coordinate speakers, community partners, and logistics for relevant conferences, programs, meetings, and special events.
