Description

Student watering plants in the school garden

Our Mission
We are a community of learners determined to make the world - or our corner of it- a better, kinder place. We reflect our values in everything we do so that we make the most of opportunities and challenges in a spirit of enthusiastic inquiry.

Our Vision
We help every student turn learning into action, creating opportunities for students to stretch themselves further and achieve more than they believe possible.

Join ISZL as our next Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator!

At the International School of Zug and Luzern (ISZL), we’re not just another international school. We’re a vibrant, curious and courageous learning community where over 1,200 students from 52 nationalities come together to explore, create and grow.

We are searching for a PYP Coordinator who is ready to lead with heart, pedagogical conviction and a passion for inspiring teachers and students alike.

The Role

At ISZL, our PYP Coordinator is first and foremost a learning leader and instructional coach. This is not a ‘sit behind a desk and manage paperwork’ position—it is an active, visible and collaborative role dedicated to shaping the conditions for great teaching and learning every single day.

Working closely with the Primary School Principal, Assistant Principals and the school-wide Instructional Leadership Team, you will lead innovation, curriculum design and pedagogical growth across our primary division.

As PYP Coordinator at our Zug Campus, you will:

  • Build trusting, collaborative coaching relationships through 1:1 consultations, co-planning, modeling inquiry practice, classroom observations and supportive feedback cycles.
  • Guide teachers and teams in realizing their professional learning goals using the ISZL Professional Growth Framework.
  • Lead the review and evolution of our Programme of Inquiry, scope and sequence documents, assessment practices and the PYP Exhibition, ensuring learning is concept-based, coherent and agency-driven.
  • Drive effective curriculum documentation, planning and home-school learning visibility using Toddle.
  • Plan and facilitate engaging parent workshops, orientation sessions and information evenings that build community understanding of PYP pedagogy and student learning milestones.
  • Plan and facilitate professional development during staff meetings, team planning time and faculty in-service days to elevate research-based practice.
  • Serve as the Primary School’s liaison with the IBO, ensuring regulatory compliance, authorization/evaluation success and regional network connections.

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified Primary teacher with solid classroom experience in the primary years and a genuine passion for inquiry-based learning.
  • 3–5 years of successful PYP coordination and leadership experience in an international school setting, accompanied by the cultural agility and global mindset needed to thrive in a diverse community.
  • A skilled educational leader who models best practice, builds capacity and guides teachers through non-evaluative coaching cycles with empathy and clarity.
  • Practical experience using Toddle for PYP curriculum mapping, unit planning and home-school communication is strongly preferred.
  • Active membership in the IB Educator Network (IBEN)—such as an IB Workshop Leader, School Visitor, Consultant or Evaluator—is preferred.
  • Learner-centered, reflective, organized and visible—a leader with courage in their convictions, compassion in their practice and a healthy dose of humor.

Why ISZL?

Because ISZL is more than a school. It's a community where:

  • Students inspire you daily
  • Pedagogical innovation matters
  • Collaboration is real
  • Switzerland is your campus

At ISZL, you don’t just take on a role. You join a community dedicated to turning learning into action—developing courageous, compassionate learners who strive to make the world better and kinder.
