Description
A global architecture firm is seeking an Intermediate Architectural Technologist or Intern Architect with strong hands-on Revit production experience to join its Toronto team.
The firm works on large-scale retail, commercial, mixed-use and institutional projects. This role focuses on developing Revit models, producing construction documentation and resolving technical details under the guidance of senior architects. It suits someone who enjoys the hands-on work of technical production and wants to build their experience on complex buildings.
The role
- Develop and maintain detailed architectural Revit models, with a particular focus on design development and construction documentation.
- Produce coordinated drawing sets, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, building sections, wall sections and construction details.
- Develop technical details that communicate building assemblies, materials and construction requirements.
- Incorporate direction from senior architects and consultant information into models and drawings.
- Support permit and other authority submissions, drawing revisions and construction administration documentation.
- Apply relevant building codes, regulations and construction standards.
- Review your work for accuracy, consistency and compliance with project and office standards.
- Complete assigned production work within agreed deadlines.
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in an architectural practice.
- Hands-on Revit production experience on large-scale commercial, institutional, healthcare, retail or mixed-use projects. Experience should extend beyond primarily residential work.
- Strong Revit proficiency, demonstrated through models and construction documentation you have personally produced.
- Experience in later project phases, particularly design development and construction/contract documentation.
- Strong technical detailing skills and an understanding of building systems, materials and construction methods.
- Building envelope and core-and-shell experience would be an asset.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, clear communication and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
- The ability to organize assigned work and manage competing deadlines.
What’s offered
- Salary of $80,000–$110,000.
- Toronto based | 5 days in office
- A supportive, inclusive team with opportunities for professional growth.
- Experience on large-scale, long-term projects.
- A commitment to work-life balance.
- Support for Intern Architects completing the experience requirements of the OAA Internship in Architecture Program.
Please submit your resume and selected work samples to [email protected]. Include construction drawings and technical details produced in Revit, and clearly identify your contribution to each project. We’re particularly interested in sections, wall details and building assemblies that demonstrate your technical production skills.
