Description

Would you like to use your knowledge of machinery and manufacturing technology in a highly automated production environment? Join VELUX in a role where you support the introduction of new products, test new solutions, and improve production processes during the evening shift.

Meet your future team

You will join a team of 11 Industrial Engineers at Gåsdal Bygningsindustri in Skjern and report to the Industrial Engineering Manager. As an Industrial Engineer, you will work close to production, supporting production and maintenance colleagues when technical issues require further investigation, testing or more complex solutions.

You will also collaborate across functions with Quality, Supply Project Management and Product Development, as well as equipment manufacturers and raw-material suppliers.

What we offer

You will work in a high-technology, highly automated production area. The role involves machinery, automation, programming, testing and process improvement. You will help develop and maintain production equipment, test equipment and production cells, while supporting the introduction of new products and manufacturing technology.

The team will introduce you to VELUX-specific tools and processes, and you will have the opportunity to build your knowledge as you grow into the role.

More specifically your tasks will be to:

  • Support production and maintenance colleagues in resolving complex technical issues.
  • Introduce new product launches and product changes into production in cooperation with Supply Project Management.
  • Define and purchase equipment for production setups, test equipment and production cells.
  • Plan, coordinate and carry out testing of new products, software, product updates, equipment and technology.
  • Investigate quality deviations, capacity challenges and equipment breakdowns, and develop short- and long-term technical solutions with relevant colleagues.
  • Identify, plan and implement improvements to existing equipment and processes, as well as production layouts, material consumption and waste reduction.

This position is dedicated to the evening shift with working hours Monday-Thursday around 2-10 pm and Friday around 12.30-5.30 pm.

What you will bring into the organization

You have a technical background and enjoy working closely with production colleagues to understand challenges and find practical solutions. You listen to different perspectives, communicate clearly and use a structured approach to plan and complete your work with attention to quality.

Moreover, we expect that you:

  • Have a background as a production technologist, automation technician, engineer, marine engineer or in a similar technical field.
  • Alternatively, have vocational training, for example as an electrician, mechanic or similar, combined with further technical or engineering training.
  • Bring experience from a production environment or a similar technical role.
  • Are interested in automation, machinery, manufacturing technology and new technical solutions.
  • Can use Microsoft Office and communicate in Danish and English.
  • Are innovation-oriented and open to learning VELUX-specific tools, processes and production technologies.
