Description
Your Skills Keep Us Moving. Build Your Next Chapter at Warren.
You know your way around brakes, bearings, wiring, and a welding torch. You take pride in finding the problem, making the repair, and seeing equipment leave the shop ready for the road.
Put that experience to work at Warren Transport. We’re hiring a Fleet Mechanic for our Waterloo Maintenance team, with a primary focus on trailer repairs and preventive maintenance, plus light truck maintenance.
Diesel engine repair experience is not required. If your background is in trailer repair, automotive maintenance, heavy equipment, or related mechanical work, we want to hear from you.
The Work: Hands-On. Varied. Built Around Your Skills.
This is more than changing filters. You’ll troubleshoot problems, make repairs that matter, and help keep equipment safe and reliable. Your work may include:
- Trailer maintenance and repair: Inspect and repair brakes, ABS, air systems, lighting, tires, wheel seals, and wheel bearings.
- Structural repairs: Repair or replace flooring, roofs, sidewalls, rails, landing gear, doors, hinges, and related components.
- Welding and fabrication: Use cutting, welding, and fabrication skills to repair steel and aluminum components.
- Light truck maintenance: Replace brakes, tires, filters, and other components and address issues identified during equipment inspections.
- Equipment technology: Install and troubleshoot LYTX cameras and onboard communication equipment.
- Inspections and preventive maintenance: Complete incoming, outgoing, and scheduled equipment inspections using company procedures and applicable safety requirements.
You’ll also document repairs and parts used, operate shop equipment, move equipment into and out of the shop as qualified, and help maintain a safe, organized workspace.
Bring Your Mechanical Know-How
We’re looking for someone who can troubleshoot, work safely, and take ownership of a quality repair.
- At least three years of relevant mechanical experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and hands-on experience.
- A background in trailer repair, automotive maintenance, heavy equipment, tire and brake service, or related work.
- Experience inspecting and repairing mechanical, electrical, brake, or air systems.
- Cutting, welding, and fabrication experience.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and related shop equipment.
- Ability to read repair instructions, follow manufacturer guidance, and complete basic computer documentation.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Dependability, strong communication, and the ability to work independently with limited to moderate supervision.
