Who We Are
East Daley Analytics is a leading provider of North American energy infrastructure and commodity market insights. We combine proprietary data, rigorous analysis, and market expertise to help clients navigate investment decisions, M&A transactions, and commodity market opportunities.
Our mission is to move the market. We deliver insights that shape real decisions for influential leaders in energy and finance - with speed, rigor, and conviction. We value transparency, innovation, high standards, and a play-to-win mindset, while enjoying winning together.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a rising natural gas market professional who wants to own the market call, not just the analysis behind it. You will take ownership of East Daley's Lower 48 natural gas analytics and outlook, develop well-supported views on Henry Hub and regional pricing, and turn those views into differentiated insights for clients making trading, investment, and infrastructure decisions.
This is a high-visibility, client-facing research role. You will have support from analysts on data, models, and recurring deliverables, while remaining accountable for the conclusions and how they are communicated. We value initiative, intellectual independence, rigorous debate, speed, and the conviction to make a call - along with the humility to change it when the evidence does.
What You Will Own and Drive
· Own East Daley's Lower 48 natural gas market outlook, connecting production, pipeline flows, infrastructure, supply and demand, and market developments into a coherent, forward-looking view.
· Develop, communicate, and defend differentiated price views for Henry Hub and key regional hubs and basis markets; identify catalysts, risks, and scenarios that could change the outlook.
· Quickly ramp up to lead substantive client discussions, presentations, and market updates; translate technical research into clear, commercially relevant conclusions and respond confidently to challenges.
· Set high-impact research priorities and collaborate with supporting analysts to test hypotheses, pressure-test assumptions, and turn emerging market questions into timely insights.
· Own the quality and interpretation of Lower 48 supply-and-demand models, forecasts, and recurring research; participate hands-on in model development and maintenance as needed.
· Track production trends, pipeline utilization and expansions, contracts, hub dynamics, and relevant FERC/DOE filings to identify market dislocations before they become consensus.
Partner with research, product, and commercial teams to improve forecasting methods, develop new analytical tools, and shape research that influences client decisions.
Requirements
What Success Looks Like
Establish a credible, independent point of view on Lower 48 natural gas fundamentals and Henry Hub/regional pricing. Become a trusted client-facing voice who can explain the call, defend the underlying assumptions, and adjust quickly as new data emerges - while ensuring the supporting research remains accurate and timely.
What You Bring
· Two plus years of relevant professional experience in natural gas markets, energy fundamentals, or closely related commodity-market research and analysis.
· Strong understanding of Lower 48 natural gas supply-and-demand fundamentals, production, pipeline flows, regional basis and price-hub dynamics, and infrastructure development.
· Bachelor's degree required; technical or quantitative fields such as economics/finance, mathematics, statistics, engineering, data science, geology, or computer science are preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to form an evidence-based market view, explain the key drivers and uncertainties, and make sound judgments when the data is incomplete.
· Initiative and ownership: comfortable setting priorities, challenging assumptions, moving quickly, and being accountable for analytical conclusions.
· Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with working familiarity with SQL, Python, relational databases, or comparable analytical tools.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence and judgment to lead client conversations after onboarding.
Especially Valuable Experience
· Hands-on experience with Henry Hub or regional basis forecasting, natural gas market calls, or regional supply-and-demand model development.
· Experience presenting commodity-market insights to clients, traders, investors, commercial teams, or senior decision-makers.
· Experience interpreting pipeline postings, FERC and DOE filings, infrastructure projects, production data, and other fundamental market signals.
· Ability to improve data workflows or build repeatable analysis using Python, SQL, advanced Excel, pandas/NumPy, or visualization tools.
· Experience supporting or directing analysts through collaborative research, and translating their work into clear conclusions.
· Advanced training in a relevant quantitative field, or exposure to machine-learning methods, is a plus.
Why East Daley

Your work will go beyond maintaining existing models: you will help determine which market questions matter, make the call, and influence the decisions clients make with our research.
