Position Type: Full-Time | Inside Sales / Business Development
Position Overview
Our client, an established insurance agency, is seeking an experienced and motivated Inside Sales Employee Benefits Producer to help expand its Employee Benefits division. This position will focus heavily on cross-selling employee benefits solutions to an existing book of Property & Casualty (P&C) clients, identifying new business opportunities, and building long-term relationships with current clients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the New York employee benefits marketplace, regional carrier relationships, PEO structures, and alternative benefits solutions for small businesses.
This is an excellent opportunity for a sales-driven benefits professional who enjoys leveraging existing client relationships, identifying coverage gaps, and providing creative, cost-effective employee benefits solutions.
Candidates must reside within the NY/NJ/CT Tri-State Area and be comfortable visiting clients in person when needed.
Key Responsibilities
-
Cross-Selling & Business Development: Identify and capitalize on employee benefits opportunities within the agency's established Commercial P&C client portfolio.
-
Inside Sales: Proactively engage existing clients through phone calls, emails, virtual meetings, and relationship-building efforts to generate new employee benefits revenue.
-
Employee Benefits Consulting: Evaluate client needs and recommend appropriate group health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits solutions.
-
Small Business Solutions: Develop creative benefits strategies for small businesses, including traditional group plans, PEO arrangements, and alternative benefits structures.
-
PEO Expertise: Educate clients on Professional Employer Organization (PEO) models, including advantages, limitations, cost structures, and suitability based on business size and needs.
-
Carrier Relationships: Leverage knowledge of New York employee benefits carriers, products, underwriting guidelines, and market options to deliver competitive solutions.
-
Client Presentations: Prepare proposals, conduct benefits reviews, explain plan comparisons, and present recommendations to business owners and decision-makers.
-
CRM & Pipeline Management: Utilize Salesforce to manage prospects, track sales activities, maintain an organized pipeline, and monitor new business opportunities.
-
Agency Management Systems: Work within Applied Epic to maintain accurate client information, document activities, and coordinate with internal account management teams.
-
Internal Collaboration: Partner closely with Commercial P&C producers and account managers to identify cross-selling opportunities and maximize existing client relationships.
-
Client Meetings: Conduct business primarily through inside sales channels while remaining available for in-person client meetings throughout the Tri-State Area when necessary.
