Senior Consultant, Advanced Air Mobility & Emerging Aviation Systems

About the Role 
TSG Transportation Advisors is seeking a highly experienced Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) professional to provide strategic consulting and advisory services across aviation, transportation, and emerging mobility. This position will support public- and private-sector clients with AAM strategy, eVTOL deployment, vertiport planning, regulatory readiness, infrastructure development, and market opportunities. The ideal candidate is a client-focused professional with strong aviation expertise, industry relationships, strategic-planning capabilities, and business-development experience.

Key Responsibilities 
Strategic Advisory and Consulting

• Consulting engagements. Lead consulting engagements related to Advanced Air Mobility, eVTOL deployment, autonomous aviation, and next-generation transportation systems.
• Client advisory. Advise public- and private-sector clients on AAM market opportunities, implementation strategies, and investment priorities.
• Strategic planning. Develop business cases, feasibility studies, strategic roadmaps, and deployment plans.
• Technology evaluation. Evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, operators, and ecosystem partners.

Regulatory & Policy Leadership

• Regulatory monitoring. Monitor and interpret FAA, NASA, USDOT, state, and international regulatory developments.
• Regulatory advisory. Advise clients on certification pathways, operational approvals, airspace integration, and safety frameworks.
• Regulatory readiness. Support the development of governance models and regulatory-readiness assessments.

Client Leadership and Business Development

• Executive advisory. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive-level stakeholders.
• Business development. Identify consulting opportunities, contribute to proposals, and help expand the transportation and emerging-mobility practice.
• Market growth. Support client acquisition, market development, and revenue-generating opportunities.

Workforce and Economic Development

• Workforce strategy. Advise clients on workforce needs associated with AAM and emerging aviation.
• Economic development. Support economic-development strategies related to aviation, transportation, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
• Regional opportunities. Help clients identify opportunities for industry investment, workforce growth, and regional economic development.

Thought Leadership

• Industry insights. Develop and publish industry insights, research, and thought-leadership materials.
• Industry awareness. Maintain awareness of emerging industry trends, technologies, policies, and market developments.

Qualification
Demonstrated experience in Advanced Air Mobility, emerging aviation, autonomous flight, eVTOL, or related transportation systems. Experience working with government and private-sector stakeholders, including exposure to the FAA, USDOT, state DOTs, airports, or aviation-industry organizations. Consulting, strategic advisory, program leadership, or comparable client-facing experience. Proven ability to develop business or influence consulting revenue. Strong executive communication, presentation, relationship-management, and strategic-planning skills. Willingness to travel based on client and project needs.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aerospace, Transportation, Public Policy, Business, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in aviation, transportation, aerospace, emerging mobility, or consulting.
• Demonstrated experience with AAM, UAM, eVTOL, or emerging aviation.
• Strong consulting, client-facing, business-development, and executive-communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree, MBA, PMP, or a related advanced credential.
• Experience with the FAA, NASA, airports, state DOTs, or other AAM programs.

• Industry expertise. Understands Advanced Air Mobility, eVTOL, autonomous aviation, infrastructure planning, and emerging transportation systems.

• Business development. Identifies consulting opportunities, cultivates client relationships, and contributes to proposals and market growth.
• Relationship building. Builds productive relationships with government agencies, airports, technology companies, manufacturers, operators, investors, and other industry partners.
• Strategic planning. Evaluates market, regulatory, technology, infrastructure, and investment considerations to guide client decisions.
• Organization and follow-through. Manages multiple consulting engagements, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders effectively.
