The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and maintainable software across the C#/.NET backend, SQL Server data layer, and integrated application ecosystem. You will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from design and architecture through deployment, optimisation, and ongoing support.

You'll be expected to write clean, efficient code, champion engineering standards, support modernisation initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement across products and processes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications using C# and .NET
• Building and optimising RESTful APIs with a focus on scalability, security, and performance
• Designing and tuning SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, and ETL processes
• Applying engineering best practices including SOLID principles, dependency injection, asynchronous programming, and clean architecture
• Participating in code reviews and maintaining high-quality development standards
• Managing source control, CI/CD pipelines, and software releases through Git and Azure DevOps
• Contributing to system observability, monitoring, logging, and incident resolution
• Implementing secure coding practices and ensuring GDPR compliance
• Supporting the migration and modernisation of legacy platforms into modern .NET-based solutions
• Collaborating with Product, QA, Support, and Architecture teams to deliver innovative software solutions
• Mentoring colleagues and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• Strong commercial experience with C# and the .NET platform
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
• Proficiency with Git, source control workflows, and CI/CD practices
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
• Excellent communication skills in English

Desirable Experience

• WPF and WCF development
• ERP or enterprise business software environments
• Legacy system modernisation and migration projects
• Azure-based technologies and cloud services
• Exposure to Clarion applications or similar legacy technologies
