What you will do:

• Performs heat treating operations by subjecting metal parts to treatment similar to annealing process to relieve internal strains, rearrange internal structure, and arranges material on table for manual feeding.
• Ensures quality of product by observing condition and position of material during the process.  
• Starts and shuts down furnaces by setting controls, valves, lighting pilots and burners.
• Sets heat control units and conveyor speeds at temperatures and rates instructed by supervisor or QA printout.
• Maintains heat codes and have the ability to do the required paperwork. 
• Responsible for the proper lubrication of equipment.
• Reports to supervisor any unusual conditions in operation, equipment, or material.
• Responsible for production, quality, and safe operating practices. 
• Obtains reasonable production with minimum supervision. 
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area. 
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of High School or equivalent, related experience and ability to use multiplication, division, and application of simple formulas, drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and schedules; and/or the use of adjustable measuring devices.

Physical Demands: (if applicable)

• Works in heated, ventilated shop.
• Has continuous exposure to heat and noise.
• Protective gloves, and sleeves are required for sustained periods. Also, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toe footwear are required constantly.
• Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
