GenAI Intern

As a department or division intern the role will assist in establishing and maintaining strategies to meet organizational objectives. Under the direction of a senior level employee or manager the individual will work on projects that support the business area goals and results. Completes tasks using both interpersonal and technical skills appropriate to the specific job assignment, while adapting to new or changing situations in a team environment.

Hourly Rate Range - $25 -$30

Primary Accountabilities

• Develop an understanding of the organization’s business environment, corporate culture, and structure to support work initiatives.
• Open to and support new ideas, systems, and procedures. Generate creative ideas and actions in response to changing situations.
• Build and develop ML applications to address business problems.
• Assist with data cleaning, preparation, and analysis.
• Participate in projects related to application support, software development, IT operations, system enhancements, and technology solutions.
• Present project results to management and/or department personnel.
• Stay up to date on current quantum computing, machine learning, and emerging technology trends through research and seminars.
• Other duties as assigned.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
• Must be currently seeking a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree and be enrolled in an accredited college or university on a full-time basis or as required by the university's co-op program.
• Must have achieved 24 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the first work term.
• Preferred degree programs include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical fields.
• Preferred experience includes coursework, academic projects, internships, research, or hands-on work involving application support, software development, data analytics, machine learning, IT support, systems administration, or related technology functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills preferred.

• To ensure a strong start, all employees participate in our New Employee Orientation during their first week.  This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations to help you connect with our mission, meet key team members and build relationships that support your growth.  At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.

Hybrid position based in Spark Madison, WI. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Madison office and be able to report onsite a minimum of 10days a month.
