You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working pro-actively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.  

As a Payroll Executive you'll join our Business Services Outsourcing team (BSO). You’ll take charge of managing a portfolio of client payrolls, handling around 1,000 headcount. Your expertise in PAYE and NIC legislation will be crucial for ensuring precise payroll management. You’ll be entering starters, leavers, benefits, and allowances into the Payroll database, calculating leavers' pay and statutory payments, processing P45 forms, and distributing payslips. Running payroll reports and ensuring timely salary payments will be part of your routine, along with uploading FPS and EPS reports to HMRC. You’ll respond to client queries, handle HMRC correspondence, assist with BACS uploads, and quality check payrolls alongside other administrative duties.

You’ll be someone with:

• Experience of payroll delivery and management
• A strong understanding and working knowledge of Payroll legislation
• A qualification with the CIPP in terms of either a Payroll Technician Certificate or Year 1 of the Foundation Degree in Payroll Management completed, or equivalent would be beneficial but not essential if relevant experience
• Able to multi-task and to prioritise payroll workload with multiple concurrent activities and deadlines
